the second floor of the house felt like a cozy shared flat, with four rooms, a common room for coffee and breakfast, a kitchen, and a bathroom. My room had everything I needed, including a comfortable bed with an electric blanket, towels, hangers, and even slippers. the location was convenient, with a bus stop nearby that provided easy access to various destinations. the best part of my stay was the hospitality of Okju and her family. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast together, filled with homemade food and pleasant conversations. It truly felt like being at home with my own family.
For us, Aark House was ideal 😊.

I had an amazing time staying at this lovely guesthouse! the rooms were beautifully decorated and clean, making for a comfortable and cozy stay. the host, a warm and friendly lady, made me feel right at home. the location was perfect, with easy access to public transportation and attractions like Chu mun jin beach. the owner even provided helpful tips for basic Korean learning and opportunities to practice the language. Oh, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious – a 10/10! I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others.

The location of this hotel was great for exploring the city. It was close to the bus routes, making it easy to get around and see all the beaches. the room was nice and cozy, perfect for a solo traveler like myself. the breakfast options were delicious and had a good variety of both Korean and Western choices.
The neighborhood didn't feel very safe, especially for a solo female traveler like me. I didn't feel comfortable walking around alone at night.

I stayed for three nights during my trip to the area. The attention to detail in the rooms was impressive - each bed had its own set of plug points, shelves, and a privacy curtain. The beds were super comfortable, with cozy puffy duvets. The owner served us a delicious breakfast every morning, which included strawberries, a fried egg, Korean pancake, rice. The owner and her daughter were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The location was convenient, with easy access to buses using T-money cards. a great experience!
I can confidently recommend this hotel.

The hostel offered free WiFi throughout the property, which was a nice perk. Additionally, the rooms were grouped into little apartments, each with a small living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The location was also convenient, with easy access to the river and a bus stop within a short walking distance.
There were a couple of negatives during my stay. the language barrier was quite challenging as the staff did not speak English well.

The owner was really friendly and helpful, providing great tips on places to visit and a detailed timetable for local transportation.
The noise in the hotel was quite disruptive. Since it's not a big place, any noise reverberates throughout the property.

I recently stayed at Aark House in Gangneung for my first visit to the area and it made my trip even more enjoyable. The check-in process was smooth and the friendly host allowed me to leave my bags at the house before the official check-in time. The central location was perfect, with the downtown area and markets just a 10-minute walk away. The house itself was simple, but well-equipped with a kitchen for cooking, a dining area designed for travelers to eat together and meet, and a cozy balcony. The highlight was the delicious Korean breakfast prepared by the lovely host, who also provided valuable information and engaging conversations. Additionally, the house was very quiet, ensuring a peaceful stay. I also appreciated the abundance of windows, allowing for natural light to fill the rooms.
100% Recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse in Gangneung. The value for money was excellent, with clean and well-equipped dorms. The location was convenient, close to the city center and easily accessible by bus. The host and her family were incredibly welcoming and provided me with all the information I needed to enjoy the area. The breakfasts were delicious and it was a great opportunity to have friendly conversations with the hosts.
The only thing I would suggest to improve the breakfast is to offer a larger variety of dishes in the morning meal.
